What’s a BAGI?

Blunt adrenal gland injuries (BAGIs) are rare (have you ever had a patient with one?) and typically result from high-energy trauma. Although some data suggest that BAGIs may be a marker of increased injury severity and mortality, the evidence remains conflicting. This study examined the relationship between BAGIs and patient outcomes and concluded that BAGIs are indeed associated with higher Injury Severity Scores and, potentially, increased mortality.
